This quote is linked to the event - Valentine's Day
Source Notes: The Fair Maid of Perth, or Saint Valentine's Day (chapter 3). An armourer named Henry Smith tries to win the favor of Catharine Glover, the Fair Maid of Perth, by inscribing this message on a "small purse made of links of the finest work in steel." The purse holds a "small ruby cut into the form of a heart, transfixed with a golden arrow." The armourer is "much satisfied with his composition, because it seemed to imply that his skill could defend all hearts saving his own."
