Your friends praise your abilities to the skies, submit to you in argument, and seem to have the greatest deference for you; but, though they may ask it, you never find them following your advice upon their own affairs; nor allowing you to manage your own, without thinking that you should follow theirs. Thus, in fact, they all think themselves wiser than you, whatever they may say.   Melbourne, Lord

A little bit about Melbourne, Lord

Viscount Melbourne, of Kilmore in the County of Cavan, was a title created for Peniston Lamb, 1st Baron Melbourne in 1781 in the Peerage of Ireland. He had previously been created Lord Melbourne, Baron of Kilmore in the County of Cavan, in the Peerage of Ireland, in 1770, and was further created Baron Melbourne, of Melbourne in the County of Derby, in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, in 1815. The 2nd Viscount was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, while his brother, the 3rd Viscount, was a diplomat who was created Baron Beauvale, of Beauvale in the County of Nottingham, in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, in 1839, before succeeding to the Viscountcy. All the titles became extinct on the death of the 3rd Viscount. · Can we improve this biography? Post your version
